AniTokyo was born out of a personal passion for anime, manga, games, and Japanese pop culture.

For a time, I lived in Tokyo myself and had the opportunity there to get to know many anime stores, their atmosphere, and the wide selection of products. The variety, the experience, and the attention to detail impressed me and sparked the desire to bring something similar to Germany and Europe.

During this time, initial contacts were also made with Japanese retailers and manufacturers. This led to the vision for AniTokyo.

Our goal is for every anime fan to find something suitable – regardless of series, fandom, or interest. Whether figures, TCG, cosplay, gaming merchandise, or in the future manga – AniTokyo is meant to become a place for the entire community.

The topic of cosplay is particularly close to our hearts. As someone who attends conventions myself, I know the problem of finding suitable cosplays at short notice. This is exactly what we want to improve in the long term and offer anime fans more opportunities.

Our long-term goal goes beyond an online shop. We dream of our own physical anime store – a place that brings the feeling of Japanese anime shops to Germany. And perhaps one day even far beyond.
